Steps for Adopting a Puppy from WillowBrook
1) Consider what's involved in owning a dog.
Consider the responsibilities involved and if you are still committed to spend the time to exercise, train, groom and love a Labradoodle, in addition to having the resources to provide for your new family member, along with forgiveness for any items that are destroyed in the process, then move to step two.
2) Click on, print, and complete the Pet Application. Mail the completed application to the address at the top of the form.
3) If your application is approved you will be required to mail a $500.00 non-refundable deposit.
If a suitable puppy is not available your name will be placed on our waiting list.
Note: Your deposit will be applied towards the purchase of your puppy.
4) Prepare for dog ownership.
I would like to recommend some of my favorite books: "BEFORE You Get Your Puppy" by Dr. Ian Dunbar,
"AFTER You Get Your Puppy" by Dr. Ian Dunbar,
"Doctor Dunbar's Good Little Dog Book" by Dr. Ian Dunbar, "Excel-erated Learning" by Dr. Pamela Reid,
"How to Teach A New Dog Old Tricks" by Dr. Ian Dunbar, "The Culture Clash" by Jean Donaldson,
"Labradoodle" by Miriam Fields-Babineau, and
"Eye to Eye with Dogs - Labradoodles" by Lynn M. Stone
(You will find Webster's dad "Marley Boy" throughout this book)
I also recommend visiting dog training websites.
5) Once our puppies are born you will be notified and we will email pictures of the puppies at various stages.
6) When the puppies are 6 weeks of age you will find out which puppy is suitable for your home.
7) Between 6-8 weeks of age puppies sold for pets will be vaccinated, desexed, microchipped and recorded with the ALAA/ILA. At this time, you will be required to print and complete the Pet Sales Contract and mail to WillowBrook Labradoodles. When we receive your signed contract we will sign it and mail you a completed copy.
Note: We will contact you with the puppy information to be completed on the contract prior to mailing.
8) Puppies will be picked-up or shipped to their new families by 8 weeks of age. The balance of the puppy price, $2000.00, plus shipping if applicable, must be paid prior to receiving your puppy.
Note: You will be provided with a health certificate along with your 2 year guarantee per contract for your puppy.
